The Cost of Probate?
By Barry Peters | Jul 15, 2019
How Much Does Probate Cost in Idaho? The answer depends on a number of factors. Who handles the probate? Are there significant claims from creditors? What kind of property and possessions have been left by the person who passed away? And most important: Do the heirs get along with each other?
As far as the actual costs for the probate, the total consists of several things. The court filing fee. The cost to prepare and record any necessary deeds. The cost to publish the Notice to Creditors in the local newspaper. And, of course, the attorney fees.
At our office, we can usually handle a probate for an all-inclusive fixed fee of just $2,495. That fee includes all of the costs listed in the previous paragraph.
By utilizing a fixed fee approach, our clients avoid the risk of the costs spiraling out of control due to unforeseen circumstances. Only two circumstances might cause additional fees to apply. First, if there erupts a feud between the heirs. And second, if there is a large creditor claim that cannot be easily discounted and resolved.
But absent either of those circumstances, the cost for our office to handle your probate should be just $2,495. If we can be of help, please call us at 208-939-2600 at your convenience.
