Cost of Wills

Estate planning partners, Ben Monaghan and Daniel Patchin, have a wealth of experience in preparing Wills and Trusts since that – along with probate – is all they do. Our firm has the tools needed to craft your unique Idaho estate plan which will provide for those you love in your absence.

As prepared by Peters Patchin & Monaghan, the cost of a simple will is only $745 for an unmarried person. That includes an initial meeting to discuss the details of whom you wish to serve as Executor and who you wish to inherit your property and possessions when you die, plus the follow up meeting to review, sign, witness, and notarize your Will. Between the two meetings, a copy of your custom-drafted Last Will and Testament will be mailed or emailed to you for your review.

For a married couple who desires reciprocal Wills (which leave everything to the surviving spouse and then, when both spouses have passed away, to the children or other designated heirs), the total cost of the two Wills together will be just $945 .

Please note: A simple Will here in Idaho is not adequate for those circumstances where your beneficiaries are too young or immature to receive their intended inheritance. In that situation, a Family Trust will usually be needed to carry out your wishes.

For clients who have us prepare a simple Will, we also encourage them to consider also having us prepare a Healthcare Directive ($250 for single, $350 for married couple) and a General Power of Attorney ($250 for a single person or $350 for married couple) to the mix to create a thorough estate plan.
